Globalization is briefly described as the integration of markets, transportation systems, and communication systems to a degree never witnessed before, integration being the key word.  Author Thomas Friedman states that today, “Whether you are a company or country, your threats and opportunities increasingly derive from who you are connected to.”  9/11 had a huge impact to our nation till this day, and Friedman blames the new international system, also known as globalization.  It is enabling corporations, countries, and individuals to reach around the world farther, faster, and cheaper than ever before.  Although I don’t fully understand the concept of globalization, I have seen first hand how it has affected our country.  9/11 devastated million of people, not only in the US, but other countries as well.  Not only do countries have a desire for power, but certain individuals too.  People are coming more and more powerful the more they learn.
